How and where to study in Germany?
Studying abroad offers students many advantages. Students gain cross-cultural competencies, excellent language skills in another language […] and can also qualify themselves with globally recognised certificates and international degrees.
How and where to study? Studying abroad can quickly cost 50,000 € or more ‘per year’. In Germany most universities only charge the so-called semester fee of about 200 – 500 €. This tiny-little fee includes reduced prices for social and cultural events, cinema,…, and also even the Semesterticket for public transport. With the Semester ticket you can quickly reach and visit cities like Dortmund, Essen, Dusseldorf and Cologne by train. Another good news is that most universities in Germany are state-universities, even the most prestigius universities in Germany.
After graduating with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Germany or in another country, international students can choose either starting a career in their home country or in one of many other countries worldwide. For example in international sales, partner management or as an engineer for global operating companies. Employers benefit from the high potential and the additional knowledge of international students.

Where to study in Germany and why Paderborn?
The costs for accommodation and living in Germany have risen sharply. International studends who prefer to study in Berlin, Munich or Cologne should consider the increasing costs for ‘Student-WGs’ or flats. Finding and getting affordable flats or rooms in metroplolises like Berlin, Frankfurt, Cologne, Bonn, Munich or Dusseldorf can be a real challenge. Students who study in smaller but also modern cities like Paderborn, Dortmund or Bielefeld can calculate with lower costs for accommodation and living.
But it is not just about costs! Studying abroud should be an experience. Good news is that Paderborn is a very modern city with about 120,000 residents and 20,000 students – focussing on student life experience. People who work or study in Paderborn find restaurants, bars, cinemas a large shopping area + shopping small lakes for ethusiastic swimmers and those who do water skiing.
